Welcome to youth at Canterbury
Junior High and Senior High are major times of transition for students. We want to come alongside students and parents during this transition and provide a place for students to feel safe, grow in their relationship with God, have fun, and make memories that will last a lifetime.
What We Believe
We believe that God has called us to a life of worship. While music and prayer are a part of the life, we believe that God has called us to also understand worship as a continuous action. This means that we view every breath we take as an opportunity to worship God with our words, actions, thoughts, and passion.
We believe that God has given all of humanity the amazing gift of thought and learning. At Canterbury, that gift is something that we value deeply. We believe in a thoughtful and inquisitive faith that is more afraid of simple answers than it is of difficult questions.
We believe that God has called us to love our neighbor. Throughout Scripture, we see God calling us to do that with not only our words, but with our actions. We believe that when Jesus called us to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, give drink to the thirsty, and proclaim the good news of our Lord, he literally meant it all.

Project Hope Mission
One of our core values here at Canterbury is that we should always be searching for ways to be in service to our neighbor. We believe this so much in the student ministry that we have dedicated an entire section of our ministry to fulfilling that central calling of Jesus in our lives. We call this effort "Project Hope." Every month we offer opportunities for our youth to participate in local and area wide mission projects. Below you will find this month's opportunities.
1st Tuesday of Each Month | 5:45 - 8:00 PM
Each month we travel downtown to the men's Firehouse Shelter where we prepare a homemade dinner and serve it to the homeless men who stay at the shelter. This is a great ministry where you are able to serve along side your friends.

What is Journey? And, why name a trip Journey? Well, you see we love the band Journey. We celebrate their whole music library — “Faithfully”, “Don’t Stop Believin’”, “Wheel in the Sky” — we could go on and on. So, we named the retreat after Steve Perry and company. But enough about the band Journey. How about the trip Journey?
Journey is a weekend trip for our Junior & Senior High students where we will spend the weekend off-campus at Shocco Springs in Talladega, AL. We have fun sessions that are filled with games, worship, and messages specifically designed to bring students closer to each other & to Christ. It’s a jam-packed, fun weekend, and we want your student to join us!
Registration closes on November 17th!
