While each person’s grief is personal, everyone grieving the loss of a family member is sharing the path of grief and discovering hope for the days ahead. Each session includes scripture, readings, and discussion through which participants find fresh wisdom and strength.

If you can not make it to this group on Sundays at 5 PM, there will be another 6-week course on Thursdays from 9-10:30 AM starting October 12th.

Day of Service

Our annual Day of Service will be Sunday, October 8th.  Service and outreach have always been a pillar of Canterbury’s foundation. We’ll honor that mission by gathering together to be the hands and feet of Jesus during our Annual Day of Service in the Avondale community.

Lunch will be served at noon, followed by a couple of hours of outreach projects including a sweet potato drop, Little Brown Bag packing,  spruce-up work at Avondale Elementary School,  Alethia House and several more.

With projects inside and out, sitting and active, there is something for everyone in the family!
Sign up now at http://signup.com/go/YkSrEzi  or contact Cindy McDougald at cindy.mcdougald@canterburyumc.org.

UMW Sunday

Help us celebrate United Methodist Women on Sunday, September 10 in all worship services. Stop by the information table in the upstairs Commons to see and hear more about what the UMW offers.

The original mission of the UMW was to serve women and children. We want all women at Canterbury to be a part of the ever evolving tradition of the United Methodist Women. Canterbury's UMW is currently made up of eleven circles. We now have a place for every woman at Canterbury; from teens to great-grandmothers. Imagine the difference you can make...join the United Methodist Women today!
