PRAY

God, show me your light and grace.

Be calm & focus on God’s presence.
Settle your heart, mind and body.
Focus on God’s proximity to you.

As you sit in silence, focus on God’s deep and abiding love for you.
Try to become aware of God’s presence in an attentive way.
Ask the Holy Spirit to help you recall your day with love and to let you look on all you see with love.

4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

READ

Romans 8:35-38

35 Who will separate us from Christ’s love? Will we be separated by trouble, or distress, or harassment, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? 36 As it is written,

We are being put to death all day long for your sake.
We are treated like sheep for slaughter.

37 But in all these things we win a sweeping victory through the one who loved us.38 I’m convinced that nothing can separate us from God’s love in Christ Jesus our Lord: not death or life, not angels or rulers, not present things or future things, not powers 39 or height or depth, or any other thing that is created.

Reflection:

Have there been times in your life that you have felt separate from Christ’s love? What helped you rest in the love of Christ again? What does it mean to you that nothing can separate us from God’s love in Jesus? How can you show Christ’s love to someone today?

THANK

God, thank you for your gifts.

Now remember the small pleasures of the last day; things like a good night’s sleep, a good conversation, the smell of morning coffee, the laugh of a child.
