Purpose: To help people in our community who finds themselves in need of food assistance.

Mission: To share Christ’s love and uphold his teaching from Matthew 25:35.


For Those in Need

PROCEDURES

Clients 18 and over may come twice a month to receive a meal bag. Brown Bag is open on Fridays (see the schedule below) from 8:30 - 10:30. 

Canterbury Member and Social Service Agency Representative Information

During office hours at reception Tuesdays-Thursdays, you may request and pick up meal bags for people in need who you know cannot join us on Fridays. Contact Susan Dowdey at susan.dowdey@canterburyumc.org two days prior to your pick-up date. Be prepared to give the receptionist the name, age, and zip code of the person receiving the meal bag.
 


Volunteer with Us

Wednesdays

Join us at 10:00 a.m. as we unload the food truck and pack meals together in the dining hall. This is an easy, fun way to serve others with your church family, and we welcome volunteers of all ages.

Fridays

If you want to welcome the men and women who receive food assistance, help us serve them a Continental Breakfast from 8:30 AM -10:30 AM in Canterbury Hall.

Bag Distribution is ongoing from 8:30-10:30 from Canterbury Hall.

  • Cereal or Oatmeal

Please consider helping prepare scripture verses to go into each meal bag or donate food to the Emergency Pantry.
