Learning Legacy Series

Legacy Learning Luncheon
Melinda Rainey Thompson

Melinda Rainey Thompson is a humorist, former English professor and mother of three.
Melinda will have us all laughing out loud with her light and fun, real deal, Southern Woman Style of entertaining.

Melinda is the author of the best-selling SWAG:  Southern Women Aging Gracefully and The SWAG Life. She is the coauthor of I Love you---Now Hush, which won two prestigious book awards, both for humor.  She has an undergraduate degree in English from Tulane University and an MA in English from UAB.  She was a member of Birmingham-Southern College’s English faculty from 1988 to 1994.  Mrs. Thompson will be signing books after the event.  Melinda is married to Bill Thompson, Presiding Judge of the Alabama Court of Civil Appeals.  They have three children—named for long dead relatives in the proper southern tradition.  Melinda will always be from the small town of Greenville, Alabama, even though she now resides with her family in Homeworrd, Alabama.

Join us on Tuesday, April 22nd in Canterbury Hall at noon.
