Affordable Housing Ministry

Carpenter's Hands Ministry is a low-income, housing repair ministry of Canterbury United Methodist Church. Carpenter's Hands conducts its business much like a small construction or home repair company with a few crucial differences:

The repairs are completed in the name of Jesus Christ by our words and our actions
The work force is comprised primarily of volunteers with a few paid staff for direction and support
Home repairs are for the elderly and low-income families and are at no cost to the home owner

Committed to Providing

Safe, decent, affordable housing to low-income families
The personal touch of continuing care with each family while we work and long after the job is complete
On site opportunities for our volunteers to reach beyond themselves, learn new skills and be the hands of Christ

When

Join the team every Monday - Thursday at 8:15 a.m. and return by 2:30 p.m.

Where

Meet in the lower level of the parking deck.

What to bring

All you need to bring is a servant's heart, some work gloves, and a bag lunch.

Saturday Workdays

Special Saturday workdays can be arranged for groups or businesses.

We will depart the church at 8:15 a.m. and return around 2:30 p.m on the Saturdays listed below. All you need to bring is a servant's heart, some work gloves, and a bag lunch.

If you are unable to donate your time, please know that we accept monetary donations through the church as well as materials and tools.

Donate Materials or Tools
We have a need for new tools and building materials often. We even accept old cabinets and cabinet handles if you are re-designing your kitchen. Give us a call if you think you might have something that could help our ministry.
