We’re glad you have been visiting with us, and that you are interested in making Canterbury your church home! Here's how to take the next steps.
Step 1: Inform us of your desire to become a member.
This can be done in two main ways:
- Mark "Information about Christian faith/church membership" on the attendance pad that is passed during each worship service.
Step 2: Attend "Beginnings"
"Beginnings" has five sessions. All persons interested in joining Canterbury should attend. Here's what to expect:
Session 1 - FREE LUNCH. Free lunch is offered in the dining room after 10:30 worship. Get to know the pastors, staff, and persons interested in joining.
Session 2 - WORSHIP. Learn about the three worship services and explore how worship shapes our lives on a daily basis.
Session 3 - LEARNING. Participate in a Bible study with the Director of Learning and find a Sunday School class that will be perfect for you.
Session 4 - SERVICE. Get your hands dirty and do a service project during this session led by the Director of Outreach.
Session 5 - WHOLE LIFE STEWARDSHIP. Senior minister Dr. Bill Morgan and Contemporary Worship Minister, Rev. Mike Holly discuss membership vows: Prayers, Presence, Gifts, Service, and Witness.
Step 3: Joining Sunday
After the final session of Beginnings, attend the worship service of your choice. At the end of the service, the minister will call for new members. Answer "I will" to the vows, and you're official! You will receive a warm welcome into the congregation!
