Weekly Volunteer Schedule

 

Weekly Production Schedule for The Brown Bag Project 2012

Individual volunteers welcome any time!  We start our week rotation when the 1st of a month falls on or just before a Wednesday.

Brown Bag brings in the food from a Publix store on Wednesdays at 10 a.m.
Sunday School classes and individual volunteers pack meal bags during a morning shift and an evening shift.
On Fridays, we have hospitality hour with our clients at 10:00 and distribute meal bags at 10:45 a.m. 
 
1st rotation week
Wednesday: Disciples Class- Pack all meal bags in the Dining Room starting at 5:30p.m. Other help is welcome!
Friday: We will be in Canterbury Hall. Food donated by Max's Delicatessen at the Colonnade.
Individual volunteers needed to help welcome/host at 8:30 a.m. and distribute meal bags at 10:30 a.m.
 
 
2nd rotation week
Wednesday: JOY Class- Pack 1/2 meal bags from 10-noon in the Dining Room (September thru May only)
Singles Class- Pack 1/2 meal bags at 5:30 p.m.- in the Dining Room
Friday: JOY volunteers- Hospitality in the Canterbury Hall. Bag distribution from downstairs commons
Volunteers are needed during the summer months- June- August 
 
 
3rd rotation week
Wednesday: Crawford Owen Class- Pack 1/2 meal bags from 10-noon in the Dining Room
Aldersgate Class- Pack 1/2 meal bags at 5:30 p.m. in the Dining Room
Friday: Crawford Owen- Hospitality in Canterbury Hall and distribute meal bags from downstairs commons.
 
 
4th rotation week
Wednesday: Spring Valley School students- Pack meal bags at 10:00 a.m. (Sept.-April) in the Dining Room.
Individual Volunteers welcome! (especially May-August)
Seekers Class- Pack meal bags at 5:30 p.m. in the Dining Room
Friday: UMW Circles- Hospitality in Canterbury Hall; Seekers Class- distribute bags from downstairs coommons.
 
 
5th rotation weeks (February 29th-March 2nd; May 30th-June 1st; August 29th-31st; October 31st- November 2nd)
Wednesday: Covenant Class- Pack all meal bags in the Dining Room at 10:00 a.m. Individual Volunteers NEEDED!
Friday: Covenant Class-Hospitality in Canterbury Hall and distribute meal bags- downstairs commons.
 

Extra Volunteers needed to help pack meal bags on these holidays: 
  • Pack on November 14th for Brown Bag Thanksgiving on November 16th
  • Pack on December 19th for Brown Bag Christmas on December 21st
 
Brown Bag will be closed on the following dates:
  • May 23 - 25 (Memorial Day Weekend)
  • July 4 - 6 (Independence Day Weekend)
  • November 21 - 23 (Thanksgiving Week)
  • December 22 - January 8 (Christmas and New Year Break)
